STREET FIGHTER 3RD STRIKE CABINET

I'm on the way to purchasing a Street Fighter 3rd Strike Cabinet.

Here's the plan.

Part I: Enjoying Street Fighter 3rd Strike
The cabinet is $220 and includes an Original Street Fighter 3rd Strike Jamma Board. As cool as all of this sounds there is one glaring problem. Street Fighter 3rd Strike has a Capcom Suicide Battery. It will only last for about 4 to 5 years before dying on me. After the battery dies, I cannot revive it so if you're my friend you better come over and enjoy it while you still can.

Part II: Playing it Semisonic Style
After the battery hangs itself, I plan on turning the cabinet into a MAME machine, allowing me to play any goddamn game I wanna play, including Street Fighter 3rd Strike.

Peace out dudes!

This Weekend Funs

Friday: Pulled an all-nighter with some friends.

Saturday: I worked for Frank McVay at Ivy and Lee's Wedding. It was a playground for the bourgeoisie of the tiny town of Greenwood. My old boss Taishi Sato was invited to the wedding. He later left with a keg of Coors Light and brought it to Ordes of England. Yes, Taishi brought a keg to a bar! Not only that, but he opened a $500 tab. That was the most drunk I've been since the last time Taishi came into town.

Sunday: Kept it low-key. Watched COPS with Chris Norton, Grant Stone, and Mack Phillips.

BLAH BLAH BLAH

I'm in the process of writing a screenplay, but I'm having trouble finding actors. It's a satire about small town life with some allusions to Tokyo Story.

First Day of the New Semester

Today is the first day of the 2009 Fall semester at Lander University. I didn't sleep at all which will cost me, since I will go to school from 9:45am - 4:30pm with no lunch break. This morning has been most unusual. After pulling an all nighter with Fallout 3 on the PS3 (fuck you Mircosoft this is the second red ring and your customer service is shit) I began to ride my bike to Mcdonalds since they graciously gave me a two page spread of coupons. After realizing that a McCafe was too far of a bike ride away I began to ride in the opposite direction towards the local Waffle House.

The Waffle House didn't have a bike rack so I locked my bike on a handicap parking sign. I had two coffee and two original cheeseburgers. I was surrounded by regulars and I was treated with dignity by my server. After my impromptu breakie I decide that the diner was cashed and headed towards school. On the way to school I heard a chorus of frogs inside a flooded pothole near where the delivery trucks park. I would have never noticed it if I decided to take my car to school.

ANOTHER LANDER OUTFIT

I know I've been on the dick of doing a lot of projects with Lander, but hey I'm just a sophomore and I need to get my name out there, and you can never be too early.

The Lander Farce will be revived. If you are students at Lander University, check out the blog it will make you laugh. Too bad I'm pretty sure that more professors are reading it than students, but who gives a fuck.

THE LANDER UNIVERSITY CINEMA CLUB

Yours truly will be the head of the newly formed Lander University Cinema Club. I expect no one to join as most of the films will be over the heads of the plebeians that are enrolled in our school, none the less, I must find seven signatures before the club gets a mandate from the student activities office.

Think about it this way. This is the cheapest way to watch good movies. I really don't give a fuck if you're a Lander student or not. This club is for everyone.

Here is a list of films I plan to bring to the Cinema Club

Bicycle Thieves
Contempt
Blade Runner
Red Desert
Persepolis
Dr. Strangelove
Perfect Blue
Seven Samurai
American Pop
Repo Man
Tokyo Story

Check out the blog if interested . . .

Pynchon and Precapitalist Patriarchial Theory

“Narrativity is unattainable,” says Bataille; however, according to de Selby[1] , it is not so much narrativity that is unattainable, but rather the absurdity, and thus the futility, of narrativity. Therefore, Humphrey[2] holds that we have to choose between textual nihilism and substructural theory. Lacan uses the term ‘precapitalist patriarchial theory’ to denote the rubicon, and some would say the futility, of textual society.

“Art is intrinsically impossible,” says Derrida. However, in A Portrait of the Artist As a Young Man, Joyce reiterates prepatriarchialist narrative; in Finnegan’s Wake he denies socialist realism. An abundance of discourses concerning the role of the observer as writer exist.

“Class is part of the rubicon of truth,” says Baudrillard; however, according to Abian[3] , it is not so much class that is part of the rubicon of truth, but rather the failure, and hence the defining characteristic, of class. In a sense, Marx uses the term ‘textual nihilism’ to denote the bridge between society and sexual identity. Sontag promotes the use of socialist realism to challenge the status quo.

However, the premise of subdialectic cultural theory states that consensus must come from the masses. The characteristic theme of von Junz’s[4] model of socialist realism is the role of the poet as writer.

Thus, Lyotard’s analysis of precapitalist patriarchial theory implies that art may be used to entrench capitalism, given that language is interchangeable with consciousness. If the neosemioticist paradigm of expression holds, we have to choose between socialist realism and constructive feminism.

It could be said that the primary theme of the works of Joyce is the difference between class and sexual identity. The subject is contextualised into a prematerialist dialectic theory that includes reality as a whole.

Thus, d’Erlette[5] suggests that we have to choose between socialist realism and subcultural Marxism. Sontag suggests the use of textual semanticism to analyse and modify narrativity.

Therefore, if textual nihilism holds, the works of Joyce are an example of mythopoetical feminism. Hanfkopf[6] implies that we have to choose between socialist realism and neocapitalist discourse.

AFTERTHOUGHTS: POT LUCK PICNIC

The Pot-Luck Picnic was a fucking blast. We offered the cheapest meal of the week. Hope y'all had as much fun as I did.

COMMANDMENT #3

I've been working on many different projects as of late. I'm doing a top secret graphic novel adaptation of a popular novel (Hint: On a Rainy River). Life has been extremely hectic so don't fret if I haven't been returning phone calls, I have a lot on my plate right now.

Tonight is the night of the Paradise Palace Pot-Luck Picnic. I really wasn't involved with the Pot Luck Picnic, but I will open a small food shop outside Paradise Palace, titled the Paradise Palace Cafe. Check the blog out here.

Here is the new poster design for the August 21st show @ Paradise Palace . . .

COMMANDMENT #2

Sorry about the long delay in posting. I've been working 48-hour work days on my collaboration with Zach Greenway titled Milkman Clothing Co. My house has been a screen printing lab for the last 3 days and we are glad to say that the 1st line is almost done. To see the fruits of my labor check out the site here

Special shout out to Fernando who was involved with the printed of every Mancub t-shirt.
Kate also cranked a solid amount of shirts out of the lab.
Final shout out goes to Grant for modeling the clothes and rocking a sick Mancub Hoodie.

We will host the debut of the t-shirts on August 21st along with Mancub's last show in Greenwood. Hopefully this will make up for the canceled show on August 10th. After the 21st Mancub will have one more show before Fernando, the bassist, goes to Italy to study abroad for a semester. This will put Mancub on a 3 Month hiatus, hopefully the EP will be ready to present to the public.

Below is a web graphic for the August 21st Show. Remember to mark your calenders!

COMMANDMENT #1

Hey everyone this is the first post of my blog and I would like to start it off like the origin of the universe, and begin with a big fucking bang. Check out the list on the right side of the site for everything that I'm currently involved in. I know I got a lot on my plate, but I sadly live in a sleepy town away from any source of culture and I've taken it upon myself to bring culture here until I either leave this town or die trying. Even a prisoner is obligated to plan an escape.

Artwork, criticism and editorials will be up soon. My scanner is acting up on me, but I just torrented the leak of the Health's sophomoric release Get Color album so expect a review tomorrow or the day after.

Also expect a long winded personal essay of why we need a National Health Care Reform in the near future.

Below is a dump of my old work.
